Why a Doula
A birth doula is not a medical provider. I don't make decisions or give medical advice. What I do is show up — fully present, calm, and without distraction — and stay with you through labor and birth in a way that hospital staff, as wonderful as they are, cannot always do.
I help you and your partner understand what is happening, think through questions you may want to ask your care team, and feel grounded when things feel uncertain. I offer comfort measures, positioning guidance, and steady encouragement. I support you, whatever kind of birth you are planning.
Your Journey Together
From our first conversation to your first weeks home, here is how we journey together.
We begin with a complimentary conversation — no pressure, no commitment. Just a chance to meet, share your hopes, ask your questions, and see if we are the right fit for each other.
Once we decide to work together, we begin with a Getting-to-Know-You & Onboarding Meeting, approximately two hours and available in person or virtually. From there, we meet again for a Pregnancy Check-In Meeting to see how you're doing and talk through your hopes and concerns. I also attend one scheduled Prenatal Provider Appointment alongside you and your OB or midwife. Together, these three touchpoints help us build your personalized birth preferences and lay a foundation of trust.
I am on call for you beginning at 38 weeks. When you are ready for in-person labor support, I join you and remain with you through labor and birth, offering comfort measures, positioning support, encouragement, and support for your partner.
After your baby is born, I stay for one to two hours of immediate postpartum support. The Anchored Birth Package also includes a postpartum home visit, so you have a steady, familiar presence as you settle into life with your new baby.

Every mother's vision for her birth is different, and every vision is worthy of full, compassionate support. Whatever setting you are planning, I am here to walk alongside you.
If you are planning a hospital birth in Cookeville or the surrounding area, I can provide continuous doula support during labor and birth. I support you alongside your medical care team while staying within the non-medical role of a doula. My focus is your comfort, your questions, and your experience.
Birth centers offer a calm, lower-intervention setting with skilled midwifery care. If you are drawn to that kind of birth, I am here to support your preparation, your labor, and your transition into the early postpartum days.
Home birth is a deeply personal choice. If you are planning a home birth with a midwife, I can be an additional layer of support — focused on your comfort and your partner while your midwife attends to your clinical care.
