My Story
Hi, I'm Carrie, the heart behind Anchored Roots Doula Care. Motherhood and birth have shaped so much of who I am.
I became a mom at 18 with the birth of my first son, and that experience was beautiful and empowering. My second son was born when I was 22, and his birth was much more difficult. I experienced serious complications and nearly lost my life. Without my mother advocating for me, I truly believe I would not be here today.
“That experience changed everything, and gave me a completely different understanding of how important support, advocacy, and compassionate care truly are during birth.”
At 24, I welcomed my twin daughters into the world. In 2012, I had the privilege of carrying twins as a surrogate, followed by another surrogate journey in 2015 with twin boys via cesarean. In 2019, I welcomed one final little boy through a successful VBAC. Each birth taught me something different about strength, surrender, trust, and the incredible journey of motherhood.
When my own daughter became pregnant with her daughter Riley Madilyn, something shifted in my own heart. Walking alongside her and then walking with her through the heartbreaking loss that followed deeply impacted me. I truly believe God began calling me to this work: to be a calm, supportive presence for mothers during some of the most vulnerable and powerful moments of their lives.
I've also been blessed to share this journey with my high school sweetheart, my husband, whose constant encouragement has allowed me to pursue the work God has placed on my heart.
My passion is to walk alongside women with compassion, encouragement, education, and steady support. My care is rooted in faith, love, and the belief that every mother deserves to feel safe, empowered, and deeply supported throughout her birth journey.
